information centre
The Information Centre, in the middle of town near the entrance to Hampden Park and just in front of the playground, is the place to find out all about the story of Robertson.
It includes panels of information about the environment and social history of Robertson as well as a map of the village including the Robertson heritage trail, and the region. There is an electronic noticeboard displaying upcoming events and a paper noticeboard where you can also find information about what's happening in Robertson.
The Information Centre was designed by Peter Campbell and features his artwork called Rocks Rain Roots depicting the Robertson environment. The Centre is surrounded by a garden designed by Dan Thomas Garden Designs.
The Centre was funded by grants from Wingecarribee Shire Council, the NSW Government, the Federal Government and the Veolia Mulwaree Trust as well as donations from community organisations and private donors. In addition there was a significant contribution of volunteer expertise and labour by community members and materials donated by local businesses.
It was officially launched on Sunday 8 April 2018 with an unveiling by Mr John Reynolds (Veolia Mulwaree Trustee), Ms Pru Goward (Member for Goulburn), Mr Stephen Jones (Member for Whitlam), Clr Larry Whipper (Wingecarribee Shire Council) and the School Captains from the Robertson Public School.
The Centre is managed by the CTC Robertson with the assistance of the Robertson Men's Shed who maintain the garden. The electronic noticeboard is managed jointly by Robertson Rural Fire Brigade and the CTC.
