BY CAR
From Sydney - you can travel south via the M31 Hume Highway then turn off at the B73 at Mittagong, drive through Bowral and keep going straight ahead until you reach the intersection of the A48 Illawarra Highway and Sheepwash Road where you turn left at the roundabout. The Illawarra Highway takes you to Robertson where it becomes the main street, Hoddle Street.
- or you can travel south via the M1 Princes Motorway/A1 Princes Highway as far as Albion Park Rail where you turn right at the large roundabout into the Illawarra Highway A48 (Terry Street) then right at Tongarra Road in Albion Park to continue on the A48. This will take up the escarpment via the famous Macquarie Pass. An alternative route is to stay on Terry Street and follow the signs to Jamberoo which will bring you to Robertson via Jamberoo Mountain Road (not suitable for caravans and trailers).
From Melbourne, Canberra or Goulburn - travel via the M31 Hume Highway until you come to the turn off for the A48 Illawarra Hwy towards Moss Vale. Follow the road through Moss Vale and turn right at the end of the shops at the roundabout to stay on the Illawarra Hwy. Keep going straight ahead and you will reach Robertson.
From Nowra - head north across the bridge in Nowra on the A1 Princes Hwy and turn left at B73 Moss Vale Road (the large roundabout just after McDonalds) and follow this road up the hill, through Kangaroo Valley then further up where it becomes Nowra Road until just before Fitzroy Falls where you will see a right hand turn to Myra Vale Road. Follow the signs to Robertson and you will eventually reach the Illawarra Hwy where you turn right.
Keep in mind that Robertson is at the top of an escarpment so all roads from the coast will be winding and steep but really spectacular with amazing views of the coast!
It is recommended that you check Live Traffic for the latest information on any traffic incidents that might affect your route.

BY TRAIN
There are some alternatives to driving for people wanting to go to or come from Sydney, Wollongong and Canberra, between and beyond. Though the Robertson Railway Station no longer functions as a regular rail stop for passengers*, Robertson is about the same driving distance between the coastal stop of Albion Park Rail Station on the South Coast Line and the adjacent stops of Moss Vale Rail Station and Bowral Rail Station on the Southern Highlands Line. Complete information, timetables and trackwork updates can be found the Transport NSW website where you can also use the Trip Planner to work out your best route.
Regional Trains to Canberra and Melbourne also stop at Moss Vale and Bowral (the Southern Regional Line) and are a comfortable (but slightly more expensive) option. A Coach to Robertson meets some of these services and you can buy a ticket that covers the coach and the train. You need to book a seat. Find out more at the Transport NSW website
* Heritage Trains visit Robertson Heritage Railway Station around once a month on a Sunday travelling from Sydney and then on a loop to Moss Vale Station. Find out more
